The PERFECT, Quickest, Easiest, and COZIEST Christmas Drink: Wassail!

Dec 17, 2019 | Daily Blogs | 1 comment

Have you ever heard of Wassail? When pronounced, it sounds literally like simply “waffle!” I hadn’t heard of this until recently, and when asked if I had, I assumed it was some sort of pastry. I quickly learned at a little antique store party that wassail is, in fact, a beverage, and an incredibly festive, cozy, and refreshing one at that! I recently learned the extremely simple recipe for this of the exact one that I tried and I wanted to quickly share it with you!

INGREDIENTS

1 gallon of apple juice
1 carton of mulling spices
Brandy of your choice

The lovely host that I met used simply the apple juice and mulling spices and mixed them together and heated it up in the Crock-Pot, then added a small amount of brandy, which of course is optional, but delicious! The drink can be served directly from the Crock-Pot like a warm punch!

Just these simple ingredients and steps made a drink that blew my mind with how delicious, cozy, and Christmassy it tasted, almost as if it was an upgraded take on apple cider! However, you can add more to your wassail beverage as I have found through different recipes online, such as orange juice or lemon juice for added flavors, or cinnamon sticks, cloves (in apples perhaps), ground ginger, brown sugar, and/or ground nutmeg for some extra spice and even some garnish!

Wassail makes a simple, DELICIOUS holiday hit for parties or even just family times on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day! I encourage you to try out this warm, sweet, heavenly holiday treat even with your own ingredient combo ideas and allow it to be the next fun tradition at your holiday events!

Merry Christmas!
