Energy Boosting Healthy Treat!

Most of the time when I feel like having a snack, I dive elbow-deep into a bag of delicious, greasy potato chips… but I always end up with a stomach ache and a little regret. I’m not writing this to tell you to stay away from potato chips, I’m just going to share my favorite healthy treat with you. It is an easy way to boost your energy and leave your taste buds satisfied.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of ground flax seed
  • 1/2 cup of crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup of honey
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

First, get a large bowl and mix all of the ingredients together. I prefer not to use a wooden spoon for this step, they are the hardest to clean the honey off of. Here comes the really messy step! Using your hands, roll the mixture into bite sized balls and place them spread out onto a cookie sheet. Stick the cookie sheet in the freezer and let them cool in there for one hour. You can eat them frozen or let them warm up!

  • 10.6 grams of carbs
  • 2.5 grams of protein
  • 28 mg of sodium
