Men and taking care of their skin with facial treatments
Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I’m hitting you with a question: why can’t we normalize men going to the spa? Why shouldn’t men get professional facial care? They’re held to the same standards as women when it comes to clean skin and a groomed face!
In the last 10 years, the average number of male spa clients went from 31% to 47%. Let’s keep that number growing! Men’s and women’s skin aren’t that different, but most men don’t have a strict, consistent skincare routine; if they have any at all. Consistency is key! Popular causes for breakouts in men are stress and excessive picking. Stress stimulates the adrenal glands and produces an excess amount of cortisol, resulting in inflamed red skin. Too much picking and messing with acne or blemishes on the skin causes the pimple-causing bacteria and oils to spread to other areas of the face, making the problem worse.
Men’s pores tend to be more open then women’s so they’re usually more susceptible to bacteria and acne. In order to keep healthy and happy skin, you need to have a system that fits your skin right. The best way to do that is to get a facial, get your skin cleaned out. Start with a clean palette and ask advice on the right products and routine for your unique skin. Although most men care about their appearances, they seem to care more about what people will think of them going to a spa or having a skincare routine.
More guys are going to the spa now than ever before, so let’s normalize it. Regardless of your gender get a massage, get a pedicure, get a facial, get your eyebrows done! Be the best-kept version of yourself. Don’t let being a dude stop you from wanting the best for your skin, nails, hair, wellbeing, etc. Personally, I would love a guy that takes care of his skin and brows… What about you?
