It is extremely important to take care of yourself, and treat yourself often, as we encourage here at MAC’s Lash & Skin Studio! We encourage you to come in and try out some of our plethora of services and treatments we offer to help you relax and feel beautiful!  There are so many ways to treat yourself and enhance your confidence and beauty/health here, but there are also ways for you to do this for yourself on your own time. One of the most important methods of this is simply taking a walk!

This time of the year is gorgeous outside, and often times in our busy, on-the-go lives, we forget to take some time to truly appreciate the beauties of nature.  You can do so much for your health, mind, body, and energies just by taking some time to go for a hike or even a simple stroll in your neighborhood once a day, or every other day.  Physically, a walk or stroll you take very often is helping to keep your cardio aspects healthy and strong, just as well as your joints and muscles. It has been proven that walking can boost your metabolism, preventing symptoms of metabolic syndrome and also keeping you at your healthy weight!  It has also been proven through large-scale analysis that people who walk daily have less trouble or got rid of their insomnia, and are able to get a deep, healthy night’s sleep. Believe it or not, walking can also strengthen cells involved with physical aging appearances and wrinkles. We at MAC’s LOVE a fun anti-aging method!

In addition to the countless physical benefits that seem a bit more obvious, there have been many studies showing the mental and spiritual benefits of walking.  If you’ve had a stressful day at work, or just feel like you need to destress or uplift, the endorphins that walking will release will aid in those things immediately. Movement and small exercise clears cortisol, which is the hormone that causes stress and anger.  In turn, symptoms of stress itself will clear up for you as well (this includes some acne, weight gain, etc!). Walking has also been proven to improve different types of thinking inside the brain that contribute to creativity, so it LITERALLY will get your creative juices flowing.  

Most would agree that leisurely enjoying a beautiful, warm day, listening to the birds chirp, and seeing the wonderful gifts that nature offers us could make anyone feel amazing, hopeful, and strong.  Now, knowing only a few of the infinite benefits of taking a walk or stroll, you can take a day this weekend for yourself, or with loved ones to get out and enjoy a walk, while doing wonders for your health, mind, and body!  Always be sure to talk to your doctor before embarking on any new fitness routine to learn of any possible restrictions!
